2023 Schedule

Most meetings are held in the Magnolia Room in the Horticultural Center at Bloomfield Farm Education Center (EC) of the Morris Arboretum on Northwestern Avenue in Chestnut Hill or in the Visitors Center. Entrance to EC is directly across the street from the main/general public entrance of the Morris Arboretum. All events are free and open to the public, unless noted otherwise by $

Also, meetings may be held through ZOOM. Information and a ZOOM link will be sent to all PRS members in advance of the meetings.

♦Sunday, February 5 at 12noon. Executive Board Planning Meeting on ZOOM.

♦Friday, February 24 to Sunday, February 26. ARS Penn Jersey District’s Rose Weekend including a Digital Photo Contest, Gettysburg, PA $

♦Saturday, March 18 10:30 AM-12:30 PM. Rose Pruning Demo in the Morris Rose Garden led by Erin Conley, Morris Horticulturist. Assisted by PRS members. [$Admission fee]

♦Sunday, April 16 1:00-3:00 PM. General Meeting with Speaker Terry Palise on ZOOM

♦Sunday, May 7 12:00 to 1:00 PM, Executive Board meeting. Followed by a General Meeting with Speaker from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM on ZOOM

*Saturday, May 27 10AM to 6PM Open Garden at Bill & Kathy Kozemchak’s Home in Levitown, PA The Land of 1,000 Roses. Also to be held on Saturday, June10

♦Sunday, June 4  10AM to 2PM. Rose Display Extravaganza at the Morris Arboretum under the big white tent adjacent to the Visitors Center. Simply Roses Presentation by Mary McKnight-Seltzer from 12:30pm to 2pm in the Visitors Center [$Admission fee to the Morris]

♦Sunday, July 16  4:00 PM-6:00 PM. Don & Sally Atkiss’ Home Rose Garden Tour & Bring-Your-Own-Food Picnic in Hatfield, PA with sister Rose Societies, West Jersey & Del-Chester Rose Societies. Executive Board Meeting at 3pm

♦September 18 to 20 Penn Jersey District Convention and Rose Show in Hershey, PA$

♦Sunday, October 8. A Small-Scale Rose Show 1:00PM- 3:00 PM .in the Meeting Room of the Visitor’s Center at the Morris Arboretum. Executive Board meeting 12:00 to 1:00 PM.

♦Sunday, November 12 1:00-3:00 PM. General Meeting with Speaker Suzanne Horn on ZOOM

♦Sunday, December 10 1:00-3:00 PM. Installation of Officers and an Annual Holiday Hoopla & Gift “Exchange” (bring a gift under $25 and a dessert to share). At the home of Mary McKnight-Seltzer & Alan Seltzer
